What changes from country to country

Three things. The law: whether online betting is licensed, tolerated or prohibited, and whether banks must block gambling payments. The cashier: a bookmaker shows local methods and the local currency only where it is licensed or where it sees enough players, so the same brand lists UPI in India, Interac in Canada and Pay by Bank in the United Kingdom. And the cards: the United Kingdom and Australia refuse credit cards for gambling, American Express and UnionPay refuse gambling merchants everywhere, and some banks add a fee or a block of their own.

Each country page gives the regulator and the law with their dates, the methods the bookmakers open to that country actually list, the local methods with their own pages, and the practical route for deposits and withdrawals: which currency to keep the betting account in, what the bank may stop, and what the cheapest way home for the winnings is.

Questions and answers

Why does a bookmaker show different payment methods in different countries?

Because its payment providers are licensed by country, and because the law of each country decides what banks and wallets may process. A method appears in the cashier only where the bookmaker has a provider for it.

Which countries ban credit cards for betting?

The United Kingdom since 14 April 2020 and Australia since 11 June 2024, both including money routed through e-wallets. Elsewhere credit cards may be accepted but billed by the issuer as a cash advance.

Where do the bookmaker lists come from?

From the country pages of Betandlink, read on 19 October 2026: each bookmaker is listed under the countries it accepts players from, with the account currency it offers there. The Visit button opens the bookmaker’s site.
